The Whole Thing Together- Ann Brashares

Received an arc copy of this book from First In Line! Thanks!

I got 53% in and had to abandon ship. I tried and tried not to quit, but nothing was grasping my attention.
I’ve never read anything by this author and it seemed to fall into the categories as her other stories. Which really should have been a red flag. But we all know me lately….. Oh what the hell! Let’s give it a go!
Sad mistake.

The characters were extremely bland and didn’t stick out. They sounded and acted like rich, spoiled robots. You gain no real personal connection to the characters and there were so many of them. It was difficult to keep them straight and tell them apart. Were they related or weren’t they? Your guess is as good as mine.
There were too many side stories and not enough main story. What the hell was this book about? And and and is a word that would be used heavily in describing the story.
I just want to step as far away from this as possible. Whoever wants to read this, good luck! You’re going to need it.
I now know how people get in reading slumps……
